But the region has much more to offer. In Steinbrunn-le-Bas, the
manor house
, a listed historical monument, and the Chapel of St. Apolline tell the story of this picturesque village, dating back to the Middle Ages. For nature lovers, hikes starting from the village offer panoramic views of the Jura and Black Forest, or lead to the
Niffer lock
, a point of interest on the Huningue Canal. A few miles away is the prestigious
Domaine du Kaegy
, a former 16th-century mill that has been converted into a renowned pop-up restaurant and event venue, set in lush, historic surroundings.
Finally, the proximity of Mulhouse (about 10 minutes by car) opens the door to a wide range of cultural and family activities:
the zoological and botanical park
, the
Museum of Printed Textiles
, and the
Grande Filature
, not to mention local markets such as those in Sierentz and Rixheim.
